Lockable Weatherproof Outlet Cover for Outdoor Use

The Sealproof 1GWIXUDB is a 1-Gang In Use Weatherproof Electrical Outlet Cover with an extra deep base, providing the necessary extension for mounting on vinyl siding or other recessed surfaces. The outlet cover has a depth of 4 inches and is made of durable polycarbonate construction. It is UL Extra Duty Compliant with a patented multi-configuration design, making it suitable for various installations.

Installation of the Sealproof 1GWIXUDB is easy and it can be used horizontally or vertically, offering up to 18 configurations for GFCI, Duplex, Switch, or Round outlets of different sizes ranging from 1-1/4” to 2-1/8”. It is lockable and comes with a gasket and mounting hardware for added convenience.

According to the National Electrical Code 2014 Edition 406.9, receptacles in damp or wet locations must meet certain requirements. In wet locations, 15- and 20-ampere, 125- and 250-volt receptacles must have a weatherproof enclosure, regardless of whether the attachment plug cap is inserted. An outlet box hood listed as "extra-duty" should be used for this purpose. Additionally, all 15- and 20-ampere, 125- and 250-volt non-locking type receptacles must be listed as weather resistant.
